What are the favorite B2B social media plateforms?

Even though emailing remains the highest channel used in B2B, Social Media is the fast growing channel to generate leads. Let's see how to make the right choices?

The B2B specificity regarding the decision making process is guided by the product and the service value and involves different contacts all along the chain (prescriptors, users, decision makers, buyers etc.). A long term relationship, made out of information and engagement, will then be used as a leverage to generate leads, matching a 2.0 approach and a more traditional one.

An article from Steve Minks posted on Social Media Today gives us an overview of the different usage of the main social media in B2B. The author categorized the main ones:

  • LinkedIn as a website traffic driver
  • Twitter and Facebook as one-on-one exchange places
  • Google+  as the SEO machine
  • YouTube as the "video store"

But before even considering the channel, “have a social media marketing plan”. We could add “but don’t stick to it”. A test and learn approach is also key to the success of your marketing on-line strategy. No on-line rules should be set in stone!
